Veteran TV Director Bill Asher Dead at 90

CBS Photo Archive/Courtesy of Getty Images(PALM DESERT, Calif.) — Bill Asher, a veteran TV director who directed episodes of I Love Lucy, Bewitched and Gidget, among other shows, died Monday in Palm Desert, Calif., at the age of 90, the Desert Sun reports.  No cause of death was given.

Asher directed more than 100 episodes of I Love Lucy and was once married to the star of Bewitched, Elizabeth Montgomery.  Asher also directed several “beach Blanket” movies, including Beach Blanket Bingo and How to Stuff a Wild Bikini.

He is survived by his wife Meredith and six children.
