White Sox Acquire Pitcher Francisco Liriano

Eliot J. Schechter/MLB Photos via Getty Images(ARLINGTON, Texas) --The Chicago White Sox acquired left-handed starting pitcher Francisco Liriano from the Minnesota Twins Saturday night, in exchange for infielder Eduardo Escobar and pitching prospect Pedro Hernandez.

The 28-year-old Liriano is 3-10 on the season with a 5.31 ERA. He has struck out 109 batters in 100 innings of work.

"I'm not thrilled with trading him within the division, obviously," Twins general manager Terry Ryan said. "You guys know where we are in the standings."

Liriano is set to become a free agent after the season.
