Woman Blames Hearing Loss on Justin Bieber, Sues Him for $9 Million

Facebook.com/JustinBieber(LOS ANGELES) — Justin Bieber’s already been accused — wrongly — of fathering a woman’s baby. Now he’s being accused of causing another woman to lose her hearing…and she’s suing for 9 million dollars.
TheWrap.com reports that an Oregon woman named Stacey Wilson Betts has filed a nine-million-dollar lawsuit against The Bieb, claiming that when she attended one of his concerts two years ago in Portland, she suffered extensive hearing damage due to all the screaming girls at the show.
In the suit, which was filed Tuesday, Betts claims that when she attended Justin’s July 14, 2010 show, Justin “enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion.” At the time, the lawsuit says, Justin was in a “heart-shaped, aluminum/steel gondola,” which “acted as a sound conductor,” so when all that shrieking hit it, “a sound blast” was created that “that permanently damaged both of my ears.”
Betts says because of that concert, she now suffers from “hearing loss, severe tinnitus and hyperacusis” — an oversensitivity to certain frequency ranges of sound — in both ears. She’s seeking 9.23 million dollars in damages, as well as court costs, attorneys’ feels and other expenses. Justin’s record company and concert promoter have also been named in the suit.
