2 Former Border Patrol Agents Charged with Human Smuggling
Published at(SAN DIEGO) — Two former U.S. Border Patrol agents were charged and convicted for multiple counts of conspiracy, bribery and human smuggling reports the Los Angeles Times.
Raul Villarreal, 42, and his brother, Fidel Villarreal, 44, partnered with two smugglers during 2005 to 2006 and helped to illegally transport 500 immigrants into the country.
Each brother could face up to 50 years in prison at their sentencing hearing in November.
