(NEW YORK) — When the Orlando Magic traded center Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers in a four-team mega deal, many big name players were dealt but many experts think the Magic didn’t get enough back for the All-Star big man. While some aren’t thrilled with the package of players and picks the team got, new Magic guard Arron Aflalo is happy that he got sent to Orlando.
“Yeah, I’m happy,” Aflalo told Hoopshype. “I just want to thank the Denver organization, the teammates that you play with, the fans, but I think it’s a great opportunity there in Orlando from a player standpoint. With the coaching change and management change, I think it’s a great time to be part of the organization.”
Aflalo is entering his sixth NBA season after spending the last few seasons with the Denver Nuggets. The 27th overall pick in the 2007 Draft by the Detroit Pistons, Aflalo has improved every season he’s been the in NBA. He started 62 out of 66 games last season while averaging 15.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
Aflalo has five years left on his current contract
