Boise Doctor Dies in Triathlon
(EMMETT, ID) – A Boise doctor died Saturday while competing in a triathlon in western Idaho. Officials say that Matthew Sell was about 50 yards from finishing a nearly one-mile swim leg during the Emmett triathlon when he suddenly stopped, prompting emergency crews to intervene. Sell was flown to Walter Knox Memorial Hospital in Emmett where he was pronounced dead. Saturday’s annual event attracted more than 500 competitors and also includes a 6.2-mile run and a 24-mile bike race.
