(TAMPA, Fla.) – Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush praised Idaho’s controversial education reforms during a rousing speech at the Republican National Convention Thursday night. Bush highlighted the efforts of Gov. Butch Otter and public schools chief Tom Luna, who pushed for more laptops in Gem State classrooms. Bush said the reforms were “raising up the best teachers and separating out the ineffective ones.” Idaho voters will have the choice to keep the reforms or reject them on the November ballot.
