Caribou County Hay Fire Destroys 500 Tons

(CARIBOU COUNTY) – A massive haystack fire destroyed 500 tons of hay in Caribou County Monday afternoon. The fire started near Thatcher along River Road about three miles north of the county line. Investigators believe a green bale may have self-combusted, sparking the entire stack. No injuries were reported. Damages are estimated at around $88,000.
