(NEWARK, N.J.) — New Jersey Devils first round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft Stefan Matteau, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the team Tuesday.
Matteau is the son of former New York Rangers forward Stephane Matteau.
Matteau, 18, played the last two seasons with the United States Development Program. He had 22 goals and 28 assists over the two seasons.
Next season Matteau will play for Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. His father is an assistant coach for the team.
