“It’s going to be a bigger distraction because we let him go,” said Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby while on 640 Sports In Ft. Lauderdale. “He didn’t get that third strike. That’s just me personally…We’ve been through worse. We’ve seen worse.”

While Dansby said that the organization may have more information then they’re letting on, Johnson’s true character should have kept him from being cut by the team. The Dolphins decided to cut ties with Johnson after he was arrested Saturday night for head-butting his wife. It was Johnson’s first off-the-field incident since he’s been in the NFL.

“The man don’t drink, the man don’t smoke,” Dansby added. “He may clown around but when it comes to fooball, he’s all about football. That’s his life. For him to be in this situation, that’s unfortunate. And it’s out of character.”

Johnson signed with the Dolphins during the offseason after spending last season with the New England Patriots.
