Firefighter Killed in Northern Idaho

(LEWISTON) – A northern Idaho firefighter has died during fire containment operations near Orofino. 20-year-old Anne Veseth of Moscow was working on the Steep Corner fire when a tree fell on her Sunday afternoon. This was Veseth’s second season working as a firefighter. Officials say Veseth came from a family of wildland firefighters, including a brother who works with the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho. An investigation regarding the circumstances surrounding her death is ongoing.
