(RENTON, Wash.) — Matt Flynn will be the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks when they take the field against the Tennessee Titans in their first preseason game Saturday.
Matt has done a fantastic job so far,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said. “He’s learned the system. He’s on it. He can make all of the adjustments, all the calls. He sees the defense really well. I love that he’s moving well in the pocket, and all of the things that we’re asking him to do, he’s fit that together so far, but now I need to see him in a situation where now he takes over and see what that looks like.”
Although Flynn will start this game, Seahawks head Carroll hasn’t given Flynn the starting gig for good.
“You’ll have to wait and see,” Carroll said. “Wait and see. Taking one week at a time.”
Flynn is competing with rookie Russell Wilson and Tavaris Jackson for the starting job.
