Gabby Douglas Wins Gold In Women’s All-Around Gymnastics

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(LONDON) — Gymnast Gabby Douglas won the women’s all-around title Thursday night, edging Viktoria Komova of Russia by a fraction of a point.
Douglas and Komova enter the final competition, the floor routine, in a virtual tie. Both competitors performed close to flawlessly. But it would be the 16-year-old Douglas who would capture her second gold medal of the London Olympics with a score of 62.232 to Komova’s 61.973.
She becomes the third consecutive American female gymnast to win the gold medal.
