Gonzalez Homers In Debut, L.A. Reels In Miami 8-2
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — Newly acquired first baseman Adrian Gonzalez belted a three-run home run in his first plate appearance for the Dodgers Saturday night as Los Angeles reeled in the Miami Marlins, 8-2.
The four-time All-Star sent Marlins starter Josh Johnson’s second pitch sailing over the right field wall to give the Dodgers a 4-1 lead in the first inning.
Mark Ellis and Andre Ethier would add home runs as the Dodgers improved to 69-58 on the season. L.A. is two games behind the first place San Francisco Giants in the National League West.
Gonzalez finished 1-5 with a homer, a run and 3 RBIs in his Dodgers debut.
