Idaho Soldier Dies in Afghanistan

(LEWISTON) – An Idaho soldier has been killed in combat operations in Afghanistan. 22-year-old Army Spc. Ethan Jacob Martin of Lewiston died Tuesday when his unit came under small-arms fire in Koragay. Three other soldiers were injured during the firefight. Martin joined the Army in 2009 and was assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska in 2010. Martin leaves behind several family members in Bonners Ferry and northern Idaho.
