(NEW YORK) — The just-released second trailer for the upcoming James Bond film Skyfall is sure to get fans buzzing.
The trailer of the film, directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes, shows Daniel Craig’s secret agent shot and apparently killed on a mission gone wrong. But Bond apparently uses the incident to fake his own death, as Sean Connery’s 007 did in You Only Live Twice.
Craig’s character comes back into the fold — albeit a little rusty — when a villain attacks MI6, in a targeted killing of agents meant to threaten his Boss M, played by Judi Dench.
The trailer also teases some new introductions for Craig’s 007 series, including Ralph Fiennes as M’s eventual replacement, Ben Whishaw as Bond’s new — and young — gadget master Q, and for the first time, fans get a look at a blonde Javier Bardem as the movie’s villain Silva, who shares history with M.
For good measure, the trailer also shows scenes featuring the latest Bond girls, played by Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe.
Skyfall opens on Nov. 9.
