(WASHINGTON) — After taking a small plunge to start the month, jobless claims inched up by 2,000 during the second week of August, the Labor Department reported Thursday.
For the week ending Aug. 11, the number of people filing for benefits jumped to 366,000. The previous week, claims stood at 364,000.
The four-week average, meanwhile, dropped by 5,500 to 363,750.
