Man Who Jumped Off Pancheri Bridge is Identified

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —   Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office will continue to search today for the 76-year old man who jumped off the Pancheri Bridge Thursday morning.   Here is the official release by the county:

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching the Snake River below Pancheri Bridge in Idaho Falls for a missing person.

At 9:13 am Thursday, Idaho Falls/Bonneville County Dispatch got a call that a male adult had jumped into the river from the Pancheri Bridge. The person that we are looking for is Gerald Wilkinson 76 year old male from Idaho Falls. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light blue shirt and tennis shoes.

Officers responded to the area. They were able to see the male in the river South and West of the island downstream. At 9:18 he could no longer be seen.

This was called in by his wife who had been in the vehicle with him. Gerald was driving the car, he stopped in the lane of traffic on the bridge. He got out of the car and stepped over the rail into the river.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Offices Dive Team with assistance from Bonneville County Search and Rescue, Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Police, and Idaho Falls Fire Department are continuing to search for Mr. Wilkinson.
