(PHILADELPHIA) — Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Andrej Meszaros had surgery Tuesday to repair a torn right Achilles tendon.
“Andrej was injured last week during summer training in Slovakia,” Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said in a statement. “Andrej will be out indefinitely.”
It’s possible Meszaros could miss the entire season due to the surgery. He missed most of the end of last season with a back problem that required surgery to remove a disk fragment.
Meszaros had 25 points in 62 regular season games last season for the Flyers.
