The 11-time Pro Bowler is now the offensive coordinator for the Oak Grove football team in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and spoke with ESPN about his new journey.

“They’ve never asked me for a picture or autograph,” Favre said.  “I’m just one of the guys and I like that.  Some call me coach, some call me hey you, some go what’s that guy’s name?”

The NFL iron-man says the first day of training camp was probably the toughest for him.

“First day I thought I had a heat stroke, the first time I think I’ve taken a nap in my life,” said Favre.  “I went home at one in the afternoon and was completely exhausted.”

Oak Grove quarterback Kirk McCarty says the former gun-slinger is very animated on the sidelines.

“Enthusiastic, very,” said McCarty.  “He’s not a yeller as far as getting onto people.  When something good happens he’s yelling. You can tell that he cares and he knows what he is talking about for sure.”

Oak Grove won their first regular season game in Favre’s debut, 64-6 on Friday night.
