(DENVER) — The questions can stop now on whether or not Peyton Manning can bounce back up after taking a hard hit. Manning went down to the ground on Saturday night in the Broncos’ 30-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks with 1:25 left in the first half.
Defensive end Bruce Irvin got to Manning after he passed right tackle Orlando Franklin for a square hit on Manning.
“He didn’t say anything. He moaned a little bit, though,” Irvin said. “So I guess he really felt it. It was a good hit, good play and now it’s time to move on.”
Manning would get back up and throw a 22-yard completion to Brandon Stokley on the next play.
“I never heard a crowd cheer for an incompletion before,” Manning said of the hit. “I think the next pass was to Stokley, right? That’s what I told you I was going to do.”
Manning finished the game going 16 for 23 with 177 yards passing and two interceptions, his next test will come on August 26 against the San Francisco 49ers.
