(NEW YORK) — Although Alec Baldwin is apparently a “generous benefactor” to the Most Holy Trinity Parish in New York’s ritzy East Hampton, the New York Post reports the 30 Rock star doesn’t have the blessing of some parishioners.
Some are “so sick of Baldwin’s blustering,” the paper notes, that a group of churchgoers on July 29 staged a silent protest.
“Alec loves to be the center of attention and often reads from the pulpit, which really annoys some in the congregation,” a churchgoer explains. “It is so bad that…part of the congregation stood and rudely turned their backs on him.”
“Even though he has generously given a lot of money to the town, there are people who just don’t like him,” the spy says. “He has a need for attention and shows up at every event. When people go to the church, they don’t want to see the movie star up there.”
Some said the protests were politically motivated against the outspoken liberal Democrat.
