Rockies’ Helton To Undergo Season-Ending Surgery
Published at(DENVER) — Colorado Rockies first baseman Todd Helton will undergo season-ending surgery on Friday to repair a torn labrum in his right hip.
Helton opted to have the surgery now so he can be ready for the 2013 season.
The 38-year-old Helton ends the 2012 campaign with a .238 batting average, seven home runs and 37 RBIs in 69 games.
The five-time All-Star is the Rockies leader in games played, at-bats, runs scored, hits, doubles, home runs and RBIs.
