(SUGAR LAND, Texas) — Seven-time CY Young award winner Roger Clemens tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings Saturday night in his debut for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League.
The 50-year-old Clemens allowed just one hit on 37 pitches against the Bridgeport Bluefish. He struck out two and walked none in his first game action since 2007.
“We accomplished what we wanted to do,” Clemens told ESPN after the game. “I was able to get to the mound and get off the mound, get back here and have some fun doing it.”
Clemens is third on the all-time strikeout list with 4,672.
