(PITTSBURGH ) — The San Diego Padres placed closer Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a left calf strain. The team called up right-hander Cory Burns from Triple A-Tucson to take his roster spot.
The 29-year-old Street was injured on the final play in Friday night’s 9-8 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates, when he went to cover first base on a groundball.
Street is 2-0 on the season with a 0.75 ERA and 45 strike outs in 36 innings of work. He has converted all 21 of his save opportunities.
