(OTTAWA) — Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson is returning for his 17th season in the NHL.
The Sweden native was drafted by the Senators in 1994 and they’re the only team he has ever played for. He was named team captain in 1999.
The 39-year-old Alfredsson is a six-time All-star, who is the Senators’ franchise leader in games played (1,131), goals (416), assists (666), and points (1,082).
This past season, Alfredsson scored 27 goals and dished out 32 assists in 75 games, leading the Senators to the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
Alfredsson is still chasing his first Stanley Cup Trophy.
