"Snow White" Director’s Wife Bars Him from Directing Sequel with Stewart?
(LOS ANGELES) -- Rupert Sanders wasn't well known in Hollywood before he directed Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman, but the film's box office performance -- and a subsequent affair with his lead -- made him a household name. It also, understandably, put him in the doghouse with his wife, Liberty Ross.
Because Universal is developing a Hunstman sequel, Sanders was a lock to direct a follow-up. But RadarOnline reports his jilted wife is forbidding him from earning what could be his biggest paycheck to date.
"Liberty let it be known in no uncertain terms that Rupert can't direct the sequel. She just doesn't want him to ever work with Kristen again," says a source.
The spy explains, "Rupert is obviously disappointed because Snow White and the Huntsman was his directorial debut, but he knows his actions were inexcusable, and he's going to have to bite the bullet and listen to his wife on this one."
Meanwhile, the gossip site reports Stewart is trying to repair her own damaged relationship -- with boyfriend and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson. The British actor was rumored to be ducking her attempts to contact him, but Radar reported Thursday, "they are now on speaking terms again."
