(LONDON) — Team USA overcame a slow start to defeat Argentina 126-97 on Monday night behind 28 points from Kevin Durant.
Durant scored 17 of his 28 points in the third quarter, helping the Americans turn a one point halftime lead into a 2nd half blowout.
The Americans are now 5-0 in pool play and they have an automatic berth into the single-elimination quarterfinals.
Argentina kept the game close for the entire first half, shooting 56 percent from the field. The U.S. led 60-59 at the break.
Manu Ginobili finished with 16 points for Argentina, who finished pool play with a 3-2 record.
