Teixeira injured himself after running out a foul ball in the fourth inning. He said he felt his calf muscle grab as he ran out of the box, and he knew something was wrong.

Teixeira isn’t sure how long he’ll be out.

“I don’t know; It could be as little as a week,” said Teixeira. “Or it could be two weeks, but I don’t really know.”

Manager Joe Girardi wasn’t very optimistic.

“I don’t see him playing in this series,” Girardi said. “I don’t. I don’t even know if see him playing in the next series.”

The 32-year-old two-time All-Star, missed three games earlier this month with inflammation in his left wrist. He is currently hitting .255, with 23 home runs and 81 RBIs.
