Two Killed in Head-On Crash in Minidoka County

(MINIDOKA COUNTY) – Two people were killed Tuesday afternoon following a head-on collision in Minidoka County. 72-year-old Rose Pope of Richfield, who was towing two horses in a trailer, collided with an oncoming pickup driven by 20-year-old Josh Burgoyne of Rupert. Both vehicles went off the southbound edge of state Highway 24 and were fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived. The horses did not survive the crash. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
