(BOISE) – Just six years after the West Nile virus killed nearly two-dozen Idaho residents, state health officials say the virus has popped up in southwest Idaho. A Twin Falls woman contracted the virus earlier this summer but has since recovered. West Nile-carrying mosquitos have also been found in Gem, Ada, Canyon, and Payette counties. Last year there were three reported human cases statewide with no fatalities.
