Wildfire Smoke is Triggering Allergies in Eastern Idaho
(POCATELLO, ID) – It’s a tough time for eastern Idaho residents prone to allergies. The annual grain harvest, coupled with hundreds of miles of wildfire smoke blanketing the valley is affecting just about everyone’s health. Experts say that while rescue inhalers and over-the-counter antihistamines remain popular, they recommend getting a professional diagnosis or simply staying inside. The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality says current conditions remain unhealthy for those prone to asthma and other breathing difficulties.
