Wildfires Prompt Governor Otter’s Declaration

(BOISE, ID)  –   Idaho Gov. Butch Otter has issued a statewide disaster declaration as wildfires continue to impact the region. The declaration permits local governments to request the assistance of the Idaho National Guard and other state agencies. In addition, central Idaho counties are seeking federal assistance as wildfires continue to threaten populated areas. Officials say National Guard troops will be receiving assignments within the next few days.
