ABC’s “Modern Family,” “The Neighbors” Among Wednesday’s Premieres
Published at(NEW YORK) — The fall season continues Wednesday night with the premieres of several shows, including three ABC comedies. Here’s a closer look.
ABC
- The Middle, 8 p.m. — A one-hour episode kicks off season four. Among the highlights: Mike accidentally reveals that Axl is his favorite child.
- Modern Family, 9 p.m. — The Emmy-winning comedy opens its fourth season with Gloria revealing her pregnancy.
- The Neighbors, 9:31 p.m. — In this new comedy, a family moves into a neighborhood inhabited by aliens. Jami Gertz plays the matriarch of the family.
CBS
- Criminal Minds, 9 p.m. — A Texas prisoner escapes on the eighth-season premiere of the drama.
- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, 10 p.m. — The CSI team searches for the kidnapped granddaughter of D.B. Russell to begin season 13.
NBC
- Animal Practice, 8 p.m. — You may remember that NBC caught flak for airing a preview of this animal vet comedy during its coverage of the Olympics closing ceremony last month. Wednesday marks the show’s official premiere.
- Guys With Kids, 8:30 p.m. — The pilot was broadcast a few weeks ago. In case you missed it, the show revolves around three 30-something-year-old guys and their unique take on fatherhood.
- Law & Order: SVU, 9 p.m. — Season 14 launches with Cragen being investigated for a prostitute’s murder.
