(ANAHEIM, Calif.) — Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver will miss his scheduled start this Friday against the Detroit Tigers while recovering from right shoulder tendinitis.
An MRI taken on Thursday revealed the ailment, which doctors say is not connected to Weaver taking a line drive off his right shoulder in last Sunday’s game against Seattle.
The three-time All-Star is 16-4 on the season with a 2.86 ERA. He has struck out 121 batters in 160 1/3 innings of work.
