(LOS ANGELES) — Trojans quarterback Matt Barkley tossed four touchdowns as No. 1 USC pounded Hawaii Saturday night, 49-10.
USC got off to a fast start when on their first play of the game, Barkley connected with wide out Marqise Lee for a 75-yard touchdown strike. The Trojans went on to score 35 unanswered points in the first half.
“I thought he did really well for the most part,” USC head coach Lane Kiffin said of Barkley’s performance. “He didn’t get greedy with the balls down field. One down to the tight-end in middle that the we caught, he forced a little bit. But outside of that, I thought he managed the game.”
Barkley finished the game, 23-38 for 372 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.
