(ATLANTA) — The Atlanta Braves have benched three-time All-Star second baseman Dan Uggla, replacing him with Martin Prado.
The 32-year-old Uggla is batting .208 on the season with 17 home runs and 64 RBIs in 129 games played. He has 80 walks on the year and has struck out 150 times.
Uggla still has three years remaining on a five-year deal worth $62 million, which he signed with the Braves back in January 2011.
