Braxton Miller Leads No. 14 Ohio State to 31-16 Win over UCF
Published at(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Braxton Miller rushed for three touchdowns as No. 14 Ohio State defeated Central Florida (1-1) 31-16 on Saturday afternoon, at Ohio Stadium.
The sophomore became the first Ohio State quarterback to rush for three touchdowns in 34 years. He also threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jake Stoneburner for the Buckeyes (2-0).
His stellar performance came just one week after setting a school record for quarterbacks with 161 rushing yards in a win over Miami of Ohio.
After starting running back Carlos Hyde left the game with a knee injury in the first-half, Miller shouldered the load on offense, and finished with a career-high 27 carries for 141 yards, giving him 202 yards on the ground in his first two games.
He was also 18-24 for 155 yards and one interception.
Central Florida QB Blake Bortles had two touchdown passes and three interceptions. UCF dropped to 1-1 on the season.
