Chargers Reward Malcom Floyd with Contract Extension
Published at(SAN DIEGO) — With the departure of Vincent Jackson via free agency, San Diego Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd is off to the best start of his career, and the team has rewarded him for it. The Chargers announced they have rewarded Floyd with a three-year extension.
Floyd is in his eighth season with the Chargers and has become the big-play receiver for the team this season. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Floyd will presumably be in a Chargers uniform through the 2015 season.
“I guess all these years of hard work have paid off,” Floyd said in an interview on the Charger’s website. “They took great care of me, and now I get to start and finish my career as a Charger. That’s something I have always dreamed about.”
Through three games this season, Floyd has 13 catches for 227 yards with a touchdown, and is averaging 17.5 yards per catch.
