Daniel Craig Swimsuit Featured in James Bond Memorabilia Auction

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures/EON Productions(LONDON) — Do you think you could pull off the tiny swimsuit Daniel Craig wore in Casino Royale? If so, you might like to know the swimsuit will be part of one of the 50 James Bond-related lots Christie’s will auction off from Sept. 28 to Oct. 8 in celebration of 50th anniversary of James Bond on film.
The auction, called “50 Years of James Bond,” will take place entirely online with the exception of 10 additional lots to be auctioned off in a private, invitation-only event at Christie’s in London on Oct. 5.
“Christie’s is excited to be working directly with EON Productions to present this unique auction to mark the 50th anniversary of James Bond,” Nicolette Tomkinson, director of Christie’s, said in a statement. “With memorabilia offered from every official Bond film ever made, the auction is sure to appeal to new and established fans of the famous British spy. James Bond is much-loved by a truly international fan-base and we hope to make memorabilia from the 23 Bond films accessible to all. A broad spectrum of prices will be covered within the auction, with online lots selling without reserve and bids starting at only £50.”
Other lots include the rubber suction pads used by Sean Connery to scale a volcano in You Only Live Twice, Scaramanga’s gold belt buckle and bullet holder from The Man with The Golden Gun, and the Fawn Gaberdine suit worn by Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights.
Also in the auction is the 2008 Aston Martin 6 Litre V12 DBS 2-Door Coupe used by Daniel Craig during the car chase in Quantum of Solace. Considered the highlight of the show, the car is expected to fetch between £100,000 and £150,000, according to Christie’s.
Profits from the lots are being donated to a series of 12 charities including Unicef, Orbis, and Tickets for Troops.
