Dolphins Cut QB David Garrard
Published at(MIAMI) — The Dolphins released Pro Bowl quarterback David Garrard on Tuesday, leaving Matt Moore as their backup. Miami will begin the season with rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill under center.
The 34-year-old Garrard signed with the Dolphins last March and was installed as their starting quarterback. During the pre-season, Garrard went down with a left knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery.
The Dolphins selected Tannehill out of Texas A&M with the eighth overall pick in this year’s NFL draft.
