A month after being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, Howard took out a full-page advertisement in Sunday’s Orlando Sentinel expressing his good feelings toward the city of Orlando and the Magic, his former team.

“Words cannot express the love that I have for Orlando. With your support we have done great things in this city from hanging banners to impacting our youth,” Howard said in the ad.

The center was shipped in a four-team trade that was highlighted by Howard going to L.A, former Lakers center Andrew Bynum landing in Philadelphia with the 76ers, and former Sixers forward Andre Iguodala heading to the Denver Nuggets.

The ad is adorned with photographs of Howard and some teammates during his Magic days. “Although my career with the Magic has come to a close, my love for the city and the people that make it beautiful will never end,” the ad says.

Howard is recovering from offseason back surgery, and it is unclear when he will suit up for the Lakers during the upcoming season.
