Former ISU Provost Dies
(POCATELLO) – Former Idaho State University provost Robert Wharton has died at the age of 60. Wharton died unexpectedly while receiving treatments for neck cancer on Wednesday. Wharton served ISU as its provost and vice president of academic affairs before taking a job in South Dakota in 2008. In addition to his administrative duties, Wharton was a nationally-recognized polar research biologist, among several other honors. He leaves behind his wife, Dr. Carolyn Fassi Wharton, and one son.
