Health Officials Warn Swimmers About Parasite

(TWIN FALLS, ID)  —   Health officials in southern Idaho are warning swimmers about a parasite outbreak. Crytospordium, which can live in human and animal digestive tracts, has been found in swimming pools and other recreational water sites. Swimmers contract the parasite by swallowing contaminated water. Symptoms include diarrhea, cramping, fever, nausea, and vomiting. They say that most of those infected can recover without medication and caution that swimmers should wait at least ten days after symptoms subside before hitting the water again
