“I had a great years over there [Roush Fenway]. Great organization, proud to be a part of a lot of things that we did over there,” Kenseth said. “But I also at the same time I feel like starting in 2013, I feel like this is a great place for me.”

Kenseth’s changing of teams isn’t a surprise. In June, Roush Fenway announced that Kenseth would be leaving the team and that he would be replaced by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The only question was where Kenseth was going.

Kenseth has spent his entire career at NASCAR’s highest level with RFR. Besides the two Daytona victories, Kenseth has won 22 races and the 2003 championship. He is currently third in points in the Sprint Cup standings.

The signing of Kenseth means Joey Logano, who was in a contract year, reportedly will leave JGR for Penske racing, taking over for the recently released A.J. Allmendinger.
