Though Sudeikis had wavered a bit regarding whether he will be back on the NBC comedy show, SNL creator Lorne Michaels tells The New York Times, “Jason is in.”

However, Sudeikis may not be in it for the long haul.

Michaels says, “Right now the idea is that Jason will go through at least until January.”  That would take Sudeikis through the election season and possibly the inauguration.

This will mark Sudeikis’ eighth season on SNL.  His signature roles include Romney and Vice President Joe Biden.

Michaels also tells the Times that Jay Pharoah will take on the role of President Obama, replacing Fred Armisen.

SNL lost Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg after last season.
