Julianne Moore Transports Emmy in Paper Bag

ABC/RICK ROWELL(LOS ANGELES) -- Oscar winner Julianne Moore, when confronted with the challenge of carrying something gold and pointy with her through airport security, stuck the object in a plain old paper bag.

The only difference is that Moore’s gold and pointy thing just happened to be the Emmy she won Sunday night for her portrayal of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in the HBO movie, Game Change.

Moore was spotted walking through the Los Angeles International Airport terminal Monday with her Emmy hardware close at hand, its gold wings just barely peeping out of the bag as she chose  not take any chances in losing the trophy, estimated to weigh nearly seven pounds, in checked luggage or even the overhead luggage bin.

Moore, 51, walked through the airport with another carry-on bag in her other hand and wearing faded grey jeans and a black top, in contrast to the bold, yellow full-length Christian Dior haute couture gown she wore onstage to pick up her trophy for best actress in a miniseries or movie.

Moore also sported large, dark sunglasses, no surprise after a night of revelry with her fellow A-list celebrities at the HBO party at the Pacific Design Center.

Moore, her castmates and the network were celebrating a four-Emmy win for Game Change, the made-for-TV movie, based on the book by the same name, that delved inside the decision by John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign to bring aboard Palin, the former Alaska governor, as his running mate.

“I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me the big thumbs down,” Moore said Sunday when accepting the award.
