Landlord Assault Trial Ends in Hung Jury

 (REXBURG) – A trial involving a Rexburg woman who allegedly pulled a handgun on her landlord has ended in a hung jury. 33-year-old Melissa Ann Kennedy was charged with aggravated assault following the incident in January. Prosecutors argued that Kennedy overreacted when her landlord, Edward Milton, showed up for a scheduled home inspection. Kennedy’s attorney contends that she felt threatened by Milton upon his arrival. A hearing has been scheduled for next month to determine whether the case will be dismissed.
