(BOISE) – Public school’s chief Tom Luna has proposed a budget for the next school year that would boost salaries for teachers. The plan would increase base pay for educators by nearly $15 million, restoring the original amount of pay teachers received before Luna’s reforms went into effect. The proposal also sets aside $22 million for merit bonuses. The overall budget would add nearly $65 million to the state’s education funds compared to this year.
