Tight end Tony Gonzalez hauled in a seven-yard score from Ryan, playing in the city where it all started in what is likely his final season in the NFL.

Wide receiver Julio Jones had six receptions for 108 yards and two scores.

It was a close game at the half, as the Chiefs (0-1) trailed Atlanta 20-17.  The Falcons followed up with 20 unanswered points in the second half to seal the victory.

Matt Cassel threw for 258 yards and a touchdown while also running for another score. Running back Jamaal Charles rushed for 87 yards in his first game since tearing his ACL early last season.
